The Great Send Off
The Pals were pleased and honoured to be a part of this. This year a special parade through Chester town centre commemorated the Battle of Mons, and in this the Centenary year ‘The Great Send Off’ was also remembered. It is 100 years since over 700 workers from Port Sunlight travelled to Chester and enlisted at Chester Racecourse during the First World War.
